cherrygash, the other members have some good tips. Congrats on almost a year. For me the first year was the hardest to make it through. Now I've made it through 5 years and its a lot easier. I don't do AA either but I like a lot of their sayings and some of the steps make sense to me. Remember, "this too shall pass." You'll be better once you come out the other side.
