As one who is admittedly addicted to facebook (or is it just farmville) I find it difficult to stay away and am even encouraged to stay on facebook. Instructors are now using it as a way to keep in touch with students outside the classroom and will often times post things there that are not posted anywhere else. This means that no matter how much I don't want to get on facebook, I don't have much of a choice.

I have spoken to one instructor that actually uses facebook and he agreed that he needs to send information via email as well as facebook because not everyone is particularly internt savvy and therefore now on facebook.

I play the games but do not have a gazillion friends. I have quite a few friends but most of them are people I work with, my daughter and some of her friends, a few people I have met on the net and people i have known since elementary school.

I do NOT want to keep a journal of how much time I spend on facebook or the internet. I'm sure it would be terrifying if i did. During school I have to be very vigilant about how much time I spend because if I do not it will seriously impact my studies (and has more than once)
