I think I see your point. Accepting one's vulnerability and its consequences seems quite different than exposing oneself to violation. On a mental level, what would qualify as violation? That's a very good question. I also feel very confused. I've been accused of taking things too personally and being too sensitive. It's so hard to correct that tendency.
