I definitely know what you mean, I was never girly and wore boys clothes quite often until my early teens. I do think part of that was trying to be closer to my brother. I also hated typical girly clothes. Girls that age (well, any age. but especially young girls) don't need to be wearing shorts barely longer than underwear, seriously. Although this was in the 90's-2000's my parents are pretty old fashioned and needless to say I got alot of crap from family for it. They really wanted me to be girly, and straight. Too bad  I could rant about this but I won't, just letting you know I don't think it's weird at all, makes sense actually, and that you're definitely not alone
