You might want to look at doing accounting for a smaller or not for a public company if you work for a big or public company. If you like accounting, you won't have to give up your CPA or start a new career. You will probably always have deadlines, but smaller and private companies are more flexible with deadlines and most of them are internal and may not matter that much.
