Everyone needs different things from therapy, and not everyone's therapy will take the same path. That doesn't mean you are failing, any more than someone who loves T is failing. Each individual needs what they need, and feels what they feel. And it's okay.

It reminds me of my T telling me how important our ruptures/repairs are for my therapy (even though we both admitted we don't like going through them). I asked "Are they important for everyone's therapy?" and he said no, that it just depends on the individual client and their history/needs/issues. So, I'm not a failure for having ruptures, and other clients aren't a failure for not having ruptures.
