I used to have terrible grades, mainly because I could not concentrate and I became overwhelmed easily. I did not think I could talk to the teacher. I learned, though, that if I took one day at a time, did one assignment at a time, sometimes I had to do one section of an assignment at a time, if I progressed slowly and steadily and allowed myself to rest a bit between tasks--even if it was just a moment, I actually did ok. One bad grade or one semester of bad grades isn't the end of all learning; there were things I had to take twice. But I learned them. I also learned to talk to my teachers. Good teachers want to know their students' challenges and they want to help them get over those hurdles. It took me a very long time to learn this. I think kids today are smarter, so I offer this information to you because I think it might be helpful.
