I'm sitting here starting to cry and I wasn't sure why. Then I realized Elton John was singing "Daniel."

I remember when my brothers got into major trouble, the judge gave them the option of joining the Army or going to jail. They were 18 and 19. They chose the Army of course.

They went through boot camp together but then they split them up...as they said good-bye that song was playing. It was the first time they were apart. They were as close as twins.

Daniel my brother you are older than me
Do you still feel the pain of the scars that won't heel
Your eyes have died but you see more than I
Daniel you're a star in the face of the sky

Now they are both stars in the sky.

Such a shame. Drugs really do kill.

And once again, grief sneaks up and brings me to my knees.
