actually if you are a heavy smoker for years you should go through a doctor to help you quit...you can develope severe bronchituss even pnemonia from all the toxins in your lungs washing out...my mom and some poeple i know got very sick....can also happen with people who have weaken ammune systems like me.
personally i never got lung issues but my health went downhill for 6 months after i quit smoking...i know some people feel better..i never really have.
i feel the same..but i think of that as if i would have kept smoking i would have gotten worse since i alrready have so many other health issues smoking was probably taking me over the edge. my sense of smell is back (hooray) but my lung capacity is still not good but better to have somewhat clean lungs with low capacity than black tar lungs with low capacity. at least i am getting more oxygen absorbed into my body.
i have a gum problem form quitting where my jaw hurts...but gum makes it so i don't eat..i have an oral fixation not just for smoking but eating as well..so flavored gum helps so does a lot of vietnames/chinese candies i grew up with sinse a lot of them are low in sugar. jerky is wonderful too.
it's been over a year now...i did have two years when i was pregnant but good ol i am not finished smoking yetalways popped into my head..so i'm not sure if i will continue this non smoking me...at least for a few more yearsa i know that

forever to say is just to long and sets oneself up for relapse
