I don't think there were personal attacks on The Poet......but the tone of his posts did seem argumentative, judgmental, combative, whereas some of the others who posted similar dissenting comments about rainbow's behavior patterns seemed much more measured, thoughtful, respectful. People were merely pointing that out to him!
My personal thought is that there is need to be careful about judging people's behavior patterns or their therapy/their T's, or making diagnoses based on what they share in their posts. Sure, some things are revealed in what is posted, but that's such a small sliver of the whole picture......which the T who is working with someone is more likely to see and more qualified to make judgments about. It's OK to express thoughts/opinions, yes, and rainbow was certainly willing to consider both positive/negative viewpoints and I think she has also done a lot of soul-searching (and much more public than I am brave enough to do!) to see what is in her behavior patterns. It's just that I think some of the comments (yes, particularly by Poet) did get too pointed, too cutting, more than was necessary for a public forum.......and it did seem as though he was really speaking beyond his experience and in a more critical, rather than compassionate manner. No feelings against him or anyone, this is just how I felt in following this thread.
These are matters in which to be more careful and compassionate......not just use intelligence/knowledge to try to force someone into a different viewpoint or awareness....
