So I was supposed to be paid on Friday. After being unemployed for 6 months I was really looking forward to having cash coming in for a change. But when I checked my bank balance on Sat. there was no deposit. I called HR and my manager as soon as I got to work today and it turns out payroll had entered my banking information incorrectly when they set me up as a new employee. And they won't cut me a cheque until they get a deposit rejection notice from the bank. Having done payroll at my last job, I know deposit rejection notices can take several days so I'm stuck waiting to be paid. It's a good thing I still have some savings left from my severence package.
