Don't know if this helps, but I have been hospitalised in the past with depression and psychotic presentation. The best meds that worked for me were anti-depressants and anti-psychotics......
In these states, I can show signs of mania, dissociation, hallucinations and a sensitivity that is extremely painful(more painful than my usual sensitivity). I have also presented as semi-catatonic, slurred or slow speech and the inability to speak(but I also have Aspergers Syndrome which is more symptomatic of the previous during an intense melt down).
Depression can certainly have psychotic manifestations but I wonder, just out of interest if anyone has discussed Bipolar disorder with you?
Take care, dear one.......and keep talking.
