That's not what she said, but it's what I'm starting to understand from what my psych nurse has been doing.
All along, she plays up my Bipolar as if it's the main disorder and really never talks about the Borderline. I really think my Borderline traits are significant. Yes I have both illnesses and yes one of them responds better to medication but don't we need to treat BOTH?
After saying that I am fed up with being this way, she finally gave me a suggestion that I like. She said a new professional is coming to town - probably another psych nurse, could be a social worker or psychologist, I don't know - and this person specializes in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
Ding ding ding! That's what I need! And the best my psych nurse ever did at it was give me a workbook to do on my own.
I've been at this for well over 2 years. I just hope this new therapist turns out to be good.
