I see my PNP every couple of months for ADHD and she writes me prescriptions. Occasionally we will do a therapy session. To get reimbursed by my insurance, she has to give a diagnosis. She does not put down ADHD. She puts down "Major Depression, recurrent." I have never seen her for depression, so I think she is putting this down for other reasons. It made me wonder if health insurance won't reimburse her if the diagnosis is ADHD. Could that be? Does anyone here have a prescriber who puts down their diagnosis as ADHD for the insurance company?
