Thank you for sharing your story. It may be hard to seperate yourself from your mom, but I believe you have done the right thing.

I have a similar story, my mom was in and out of hospitals most of my childhood. My step-father was a drunk abuser of both my mother and my brother. I don't recall all the things that happened as a child, but the best thing I ever done was to seperate myself from him.
