Sorry, dps, but when I mouse over that checkmark it says, "You are subscribed to this thread." I take that to mean the checkmark will appear on threads that you've posted to, only if you've set your options so that you're automatically subscribing to a thread when you post to it:
User Control Panel > Edit OptionsDefault Thread Subscription Mode
When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.
