I play music, and it helps to a degree, but I end up losing focus rather easily and just start gazing at nothing. Either that, or I just can't run the work through my head, as though there's something blocking me from thinking about it. If I get up from it, and try to take a break, I have even more trouble getting started on the work again.

Are there any things I can do to help me stay on track? Specific postures, the room I do my work in, or the amount of background noise?

As a matter of fact, I'm having this problem as I type this, with my math homework lying half finished beside me. I'm a whiz at math, and I don't usually have this problem with it as much as other subjects.
