Hello, please try not to feel too ashamed, guilty, etc. because nobody is perfect.

We all have our slip-ups, but does that mean that all hope is lost? Of course not. In fact, when we harm ourselves, we can learn something from it. What emotions were you feeling when you did it? What thoughts were going through your mind? To put it simply...what triggered you to SI? It would be helpful to know these things, so that next time you are triggered, you can deal with these thoughts and emotions in a healthy way.

Personally, I have a pretty long list of things I can do when I'm feeling like harming myself. And when those urges arrive, I refer to the list and choose some things I'd like to do. Thus far, it's been very helpful to me. Distraction is a great way to get rid of those pesky SI thoughts.
