Yep ... sounds like classic OCD symptoms to me.
Been there and done the same things myself (except the water in the syringe and the holding / chewing ritual).
Almost like the Purell germ stuff is always nearby for me. I open doors with my elbows or sleeves, NEVER use public toilets, and prefer not to shake hands with people (unless I have said germ gel with me). Forget about ever using a public access computer (such as in a library). I've worn surgical gloves to use one once.
