I have owned numerous Dells for work. No fancy stuff like face recognition [and certainly not pink =:-0) ] but they are generally reliable workhorses. Touchpads can be tricky - they work fine for me but I know many people who hate them. They just seem unresponsive to some fingers.
Dell support is not bad, though sometimes they will make you jump through hoops running diagnostics before doing anything themselves.
Hope you get your problems resolved, though you may need to be patient.
