Focalin is basically a Ritalin cut in half, with the dextro side supposedly being the "cleaner" side as far as side effects. So 20mg of Focalin XR is equal to 40mg of Ritalin spread over the same 7-10 hrs that Concerta lasts. So you had a dose decrease to start off with. Then, some people experience these two drugs differently and many prefer one over the other.
