Sounds like you could be experiencing rebound pain now. Yeah, I wonder too if the doctor is taking you seriously.

Try weaning yourself off the meds. SLOWLY, since you're in pain anyway... find other modalities to use while you do that, to fill in the gap. (Ice heat water therapy, stretching, exercise, modified food diet, aromatherapy, acupunture etc. ... there are tons of things to try.

I have chronic pain that my med does manage well...however, when the verterbrae chews into the sciatic nerve, that pain med does nothing for it...not even at doses I can't keep my eyes open with (so I don't increase it any) but treat the increased pain specifically by other means....
