This adivce is probably too late but i will add it anyhow.

The shaking is normal...its most likely that the medication they gave him to sedate him is wearing off.

All the male dogs I have had would shake a bit and were uneasy on their feet when they tried to stand up for the first couple of hours. Our doberman that we had loved human food and on the day of his surgery we had cheese burgers on the coffee table. He would have normally ran over and try to eat them.. but he just stared at them.
