For me, being cynical of our highly consumerist society, Valentine's (as Venus pointed out) has little to do with the actual intent of what the holiday was intended for but has rather become a sorry commercial excuse. I have nothing against love, or couples, or relationships (in fact I truly believe that love is a very real achievable concept) but I do have a cynical grudge against most major holidays.
