Hang in there timewilltell. It's not you, it's the economy. Employers know they can be as demanding and picky as they want and there's nothing people can do about it because there's like, 100 people or some huge ridiculous number like that, for every job opening.

I finally got a part-time retail job in late October. I had to go through just what you describe: criminal background check, drug check, credit check, three online competency tests, and three in person interviews. They treat everyone who works for them like garbage and we work our butts off for $7.40/hr. Oh goody.

They watch us on monitors. (Not paranoid, they really do, they showed us where they do it and they call us if they see us make any little mistake.) They threaten to fire us every other week. Some weeks I think, oh geez, just do it. Just fire me then for pete's sake. So sick of being threatened.

So it's not always us. I mean, I think in this environment even normally chipper people would get depressed after awhile.
