I was taught italic handwriting at school, and tend to write cursive. I spent a lot of time writing and practising as a child, copying poems, or writing from memory, and trying to make my handwriting as pretty and legible as possible. My handwriting's still pretty, but when I'm manic it's tiny, and leans more to the left, and often words run into each other... even my full stops and brackets are linked to the previous letter. The cross of my tees is a fairly dramatic backward swoop then dash forward, and there are a few more loops than entirely necessary in my gees and effs.

When I'm very depressed my writing tends to turn blocky, and larger, and is more likely to contain print.

Now, I'm sure that the letter names I've given here look rather silly... but you want to see them written down!
