I completely know what you mean, FeelingHopeful. When I must face these dates every year, I don't always know how I'll react. There have been times I've totally hidden away if I wasn't otherwise obligated, and pored over memories and cried for hours. In other instances, I've forced myself to be around people at work or wherever, and I was very grateful for their presence and the distractions, only to go home later that evening and light a candle and cry. The point is, dealing with this type of loss is always difficult, no matter how I attempt to prepare myself (or not).
