When he graduated from high school, one teacher went around the room and spoke of her "vision" for her students - (doctor, lawyer, scientist). She got to my son and everyone LAUGHED! The teacher said with sigh and a drool "YOU WILL MAKE A FINE STRIPPER ONE DAY!"
I doubt your son would care for that as an only option when he graduates - that or the military. Unfortunately, those who cannot "pull themselves up from their bootstraps" will be left behind.

If a teacher ever said that to a child I knew about, I would be reporting her for sure. That is so far from appropriate I cant even begin to tell you...
