Even if our situations and backgrounds are really, really different, I must say I'm experiencing some kind of transfer too... so I think I know how you must feel.
As for the feelings... don't know what you can do. They are there, they can't be ignored or shut off with a botton... keep on bring them in therapy and I bet they'll get better!
Again, I have not practical suggestions... but I can offer empathy and I'll be glad to listen
