I have played Evony for 4 weeks. It felt like years. I spend real money on it. I slept in small shifts, and had computer always on the game, checking if I need to replenish resources, sending scouts, talking to the guild, planning attacks, coordinating defenses, queueing up new troop production, collecting resources, trading... well you know the drill.
Evony is particularly structured to make you feel you need to be there all the time.
My solution was to quit cold turkey. Since mine was in top 20 players, I could not make myself delete it, so I said goodbyes, asked our forum administrator to block my access to the guild forum, handed my acct to a guildie and requested that he changes the password as soon as he logs in. I burned every single bridge. I had no access to my id, I knew no one's private email to contact them again. The server was locked at that point so I could not just create a new acct and contact my guild to get back into my acct.
I missed it for only a few days. It was really a huge relief not to have to do it anymore.
Few months later I got an email from Evony that my acct was suspended for repeated violations. I laughed.
