Art is a great idea for a positive thing to build up in place of bad habits. It's perfect, it takes focus and attention, and it gives you positive feedback as you create. My positive was improving my playing (classical guitar). I so enjoyed playing, and I knew that if I'd been drinking I just couldn't play as well as I should. So it felt like, when I was drinking, I was robbing myself of good time that I could use constructively on my guitar.

You are heading in the right direction.

I know someone (possibly me) has already suggested this site, but here is a really good set of tools you can use for recovery:
www.medhelp.org

If you join up, you get free trackers... just pick the ones that apply to you. For example, I'm using the mood one, and the excercise one ... there's also an addiction tracker. Should help you identify triggers.

Oh... by the way... have you heard of milkthistle? See if you can get hold of some. It's very good for your liver... helps repair it more rapidly. Drinking plenty of (non alcholic) fluids, and taking something to help your liver will also make giving up easier.

Keep up the good work... we're all rooting for you. Let us know here tomorrow how you do... no matter how you do, we'll still be cheering you on.
