Hi. I am new here and this post has prompted me to register. Jayna, what you describe sounds exactly like OCD. Only a professional can make a diagnosis, but your symptoms sound so much like mine and I have OCD. Especially the messy room part...my house is a mess constantly, yet i can blow a gasket over a little paint on the baseboards, or a slightly crooked curtain rod. Most people don't even notice those things, but i do and it will drive me crazy. The clutter everywhere bothers me too but i get so caught up and overwhelmed with the details that nothing else gets done! OCD is also sometimes called the "doubting" disease. You can never be sure of anything. I could relate to the bus thing. I'm always thinking somehow something will go wrong. I have gone to the post office to drop off a letter in the box and then drive away thinking i forgot the stamp, or that i addressed it to the wrong person accidentally, or that i also threw my purse in the box too! It usually isn't that bad and i do recognize the absurdity. If your symptoms are bothering you or interfereing with your life, then it might be a good idea to go to a professional. OCD can be managed with meds and exposure therapy.
