The thing with my husband being polite because he's British is really just a running joke between us. It's a cliché that Brits are more polite than Americans, but that's far from universally true. I've spent much of the past 4 years in London and there are definitely plenty of rude people in the United Kingdom! LOL

There are cultural differences, though. Some cultures really do push men to be more domineering and aggressive than others. Of course, lots of people ignore their culture and do what they want anyway.
