Sometimes I enjoy to let the topic go where it will. I ended up taking to my pdoc about my hope for things in the middle east, but we realized that it mirrored my hope about my own life. There are times when there is something specific I would like to talk about, but often I prefer to allow the topic to emerge.

It is said an Eastern monarch once charged his wise men to invent him a sentence, to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him the words: "And this, too, shall pass away." How much it expresses! How chastening in the hour of pride! How consoling in the depths of affliction!
