You come across as more of a realist than a pessimist to me, Myers. You and your significant other are still superlatives to one another, with the added bonus of good timing.
There's no need of romantic accoutrements if neither partner desires or requires them.
Sometimes I wish I had a more pragmatic view of the process of sorting out a mate, and I do possess
some pragmatism else I'd be in deep trouble.
