My youngest daughter is 15 and she came to me the other day and asked "Mom, have you ever heard other people in you mind talking to you?" Trying to simplify things, I told her that everyone can "hear themselves think in there mind". And she was pretty "sure" that "she didnt think of these things" She said "Its like I'm listening to a conversation". I asked about what type of conversations where happening and she said "Its just dumb stuff like talking about music, or like listening to the news and radio on when they reall arent on" I told her that her memory can surface in her mind and recall many things. It seemed to settle her, but know I'm worried that she may be having audiable hallucinations? With me being bi-polar with psychosis mixed it, Im afraid for her. I made her promise me if "the memories ever started talking bad or encouraging her to do things she needed to tell me right away". She knows of my condition as she has been there several times during my episodes, so I'm wondering if she is just trying "connect with me" and "be like her mom". At this age it is so important for a teenage daughter to associate with the mother. I plan on talking about this with my T at my next visit. Doesnt seem anything dangerous or out of control at this time. Just wondering if others with children have experienced simular situations?
