I think assuming every person on drugs is a bad person isn't going to help anyone.

People take drugs for a reason. Some are due to the hugely traumatic lives they've led with continuing problems that mean they see their only way to cope with life is to take drugs. People with addictions are just as much in need of help as anyone with any other mental health problem.
