My doctor also prescribed Ativan for me and I don't recall him ever warning me about addiction, although I think I might have already known that so he might have realized that it wasn't a new concept for me. He did, however, warn me that if I was pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant, that I should NOT take Ativan because it is known to cause birth defects.

I took it twice and threw the rest away. Not worth the risk, IMO.
