Take care of your body

,exercise,nutrition,rest,avoid unprescribed drugs,alcohol,caffeine.As there are side effects which compromise our emotional health.Drinking enough water is essential as well as our bodies require water for brain function and its health.

Make time for yourself.

No matter how busy you are,an empty cup cannot refill another cup.That means putting yourself first for a bit of time every day.

Cultivate good friendships

...even one or two friends can make a difference in your daily experience.Tend them like a garden.

Practice meditation.

Just a few minutes a day,following a simple set of instructions.I'd send a link,but idk how.Google meditation.

Befriend your thoughts.

Cultivate good thoughts.Again ...like a garden.Use bad thoughts as as threads of inquiry into old constructs that constrict you,and need to be disassembled skillfully.

Enlist help from a guide.

A spiritual teacher,a book of wise sayings,a therapist,....find someone you can trust,who can help you grow,and help you learn how to improve your peace.

Live each day as if it were your last.

What would you wish you'd done,said,where you'd have gone.This may assist perspective.

Don't take life too seriously.

Cut yourself ,and others,some slack.Make room for your perceived slights.Deep breath,laugh.

Cultivate gratitude.

Notice all that is given you...be it,a job,shelter,an aquaintance,food,weather,freedom....whatever it may be.Say thanks inside for these.

Engage your creativity.

You can play,sing,cook,make a collage,paint,dance,quilt,woodwork,program,garden,learn a language etc.

Monitor your self talk.

Try to be an internal mother to yourself.Be a voice within of soothing,grace,encouragement,approval....ect.

Try to be emotionally aware.

It is vital to know what you feel.This helps when you are out of touch with your feelings.Times when it's difficult to understand what's happening within you.(This is a useful log to carry to therapist if you can even write a 4 word sentence 2 or more times per day.)

Once you understand your feelings,its important to be able to accept them.

When you feel angry about things,do you beat yourself up about it?Or while emotionally needy do you belittle your self?Do try to be accepting of these feelings.

Scents/essences can cultivate feelings within

....explore this and find things that elicit certain feelings from you.

Rest is very much essential.

If you have issues with sleeping,don't insist that you sleep....simply be in a place where you may hear soft music,perhaps full silence,a soothing amount of lighting,and try to daydream of an event you would love to attend...watching para sailing,viewing the ocean,hiking.or walk your self through an event or a time which brought comfort to you within....let go of the day.....try to focus on those thoughts.it's YOUR quiet time.

Try to receive a medical and dental checkup

to rule out possible health issues which could become problematic.

Somehow...interrupt this thinking

by intervening with another task or activity.
