Oh, that's a tough one. I have that problem, too. It's especially bad if someone's whispering. Then I think I'm being talked about. It's awful.
It's good that you realize that your paranoid feelings are involved instead of just accepting those thoughts as true. That's a big step! Since you've had to miss so much school before, those feelings must be very strong. You are brave to keep fighting them.
For me, it is a form of social anxiety; I'm afraid that people are judging me and criticizing me. I've read a few really good books about it that help; therapy helps even more, but it's hard to go.
