Should I do anything about it? This has been happening for days, and nothing seems to help. I am afraid to go to the hospital because there is probably nothing wrong, but I am afraid not to go in case there is something wrong. Also, if I go and there is something worng I would be ruining my family's trip to Florida. We leave Sunday.

I'd nearly bet upon it that it's a low-level panic attack. I used to get those all the time; especially when I was in what I thought were "threatening" situations. Going on the subway or bus, crowds at Times Square or even a packed Church; awful, creepy sensation. And then of course part of it is that you get it into your head that your'e dying! I used to get shortness of breath too, break out in sweats, and the chest pains. Can you go to the Dr. and get a sedative? I keep some on hand for this. And you should go to the Dr. anyway if you're nervous about it (and you are). Good luck, and try to have a great vacation without stress and worry!
