Keep getting the anger out..in words or physical activity. Do you have a punching bag or something you could use. Sometimes nature has a calming effect, maybe a long walk outside.
Don't let the thoughts stew in your head - like you said, it creates the snowball effect.
Also, sometimes slow deep breathing will help calm you down and of course, keep posting on here...we all have things we just need to get off our chests sometimes!
