I usually cut and have in the past when things weren't good... but I have also cut when things were 'supposedly' good but I knew deep down they weren't and cut, without having an 'obvious' reason to do so or feel this way. I can remember cutting more for any reason or no reason at all when I 1st started, but I don't really do this anymore now.. but to answer your question, yes, and I think it's more common than you'd think... as Rapunzel said, it becomes a way of coping with anything really, bad emotions, good emotions, feeling overwhelmed in a good or bad way....
