I don't really have a "traditional" family. Mostly it is comprised of my best friend and her family. Who have accepted me and "adopted" me into their own.
I adore this family who I have spent the last two and a half years with. They have never made me feel ashamed of who I am or of my diagnosis. What I want now is some way of helping them understand more about me and why I am the way I am. Sometimes they don't "get" me. And while they ARE supportive, I don't think they know what to do with me.
Does anyone have suggestions on how I can enlighten them and support them as well?
