I don't know what to say. I admire people who can commit to such relationships. I know how hard it is with my son. He takes so much energy, and he gives very little back. I don't know if I would be able to be in a relationship/partnership that's so one sided. In your shoes I probably would have walked away a long time ago.

Having said that I hope my son meets someone like you someday who loves him and is willing to hang it there.

I can identify with the exhaustion. I wish I had answers for you.
