[quote=WANM;1744512The only time, I'm not on my medication is in the morning before I wake up. I'm wondering what it's like for everyone else? As soon as I wake up, I get a dull ache in my head, it's almost like my brain is on fire. Isn't that wierd? I can't concentrate AT ALL. I can't stop yawning and feeling tired and I literally CAN NOT function . . . Anyways, I was kind of concerned about that really dull headache, literally in my brain, when I wake up. Anyone else have this?[/quote]

Hi, I take Vyvanse too; my main thing was crazy mornings & extreme tardiness for work; Vyvanse made a big difference--inaddition to being diagnosed correctly & taking the meds as directed. My doc said to set my alarm clock early & take the Vyvanse immediately. It usually kicks in within half hour; I have no problem getting up on time & getting ready for work; Im even leaving the house earlier. It's amazing. I'm not so dysfunctional without; I think sometimes it's a mental thing we tell ourselves & we become paranoid & think the only way we'll function right is if we're medicated. Try & calm down & think yourself thru those anxious moments; breathe and tell urself that u can manage for the time being.

I don't get the headaches; I take my meds M-F because I mainly need it to get ready for work & concentrate on my duties.. but I have noticed that on Saturdays I can sleep all day; I can get up, eat cereal & go right back to bed. I feel groggy & dragging; it could be because I haven't taken the Vyvanse.

Stimulants like Vyvanse go in & out of your body, unlike antidepressants where there needs to be a therapeutic dose within the body at all times. Withdrawal symptoms usually occur about 36-48 hrs after not taking ur meds.

Its best to speak to your doctor about it. Also, ADHD is normally accompanied by another mood disorder; that's the case in a majority of ADHD sufferers... the top 2 are depression & anxiety. I have depression... unless u were exaggerating at almost having a breakdown when learning u've forgot ur ADD pills, that can be a sign of anxiety. The headache can also be anxiety.

Sorry for the long post; I identified with ur post; I'm 40 & just diagnosed with ADHD 3 months ago. All these years me & my docs treated the depression because that was what I had; now I'm suffering more severe ADD symptoms; I didn't think I had it until I by chance saw a new physician. Now I sit here & wonder which came first, depression or ADHD? The side effects & symptoms of ADD can make someone depressed... or anxious. I've done a ton of reading on the illness since getting diagnosed. Good luck. Hopefully this helps!
