SJ, what you are experiencing sounds quite normal for dissociative disorder, and not made up or imagined at all. Often ppl who are dissociative, especially DID, come to grips with it as they age, if they hadn't before. Part of the reason for that is that the process of dissociation quits working as a person ages, and as lives change beyond the coping mechanism of dissociation. (A person still dissociates but it doesn't "work" as a coping mechanism quite so well.)
Share with your T all you can. And saying "I don't know" is quite acceptable. You don't have to know the answers to all the questions you come up with. Having a T alongside you as you figure things out is priceless. TC
