My T was better at the beginning than at the end of our sessions. He would open the door and sort of lean on the knob, dipping down a little bit (with maybe his far leg off the floor just a bit). He'd usually say, "Hey," or "Hey Kitten." Big smile, which charmed me at first. But then, something odd -- he would scurry backward into the office, instead of allowing me to precede him. So he'd get into the room first, and then sit down. I would have to shut the door, with him staring at me while I did so, and the walk over to the sofa -- it was a larger room and that walk seemed to take forever. Very strange. And then at the end of the sessions, he would STAY SEATED and watch me get the door myself and see myself out. I REALLY hated it, but I don't think I ever said anything about it.

In the newer building, the logistics were slightly different, and he would actually hold open the outer door and wait for me as I entered the room ahead of him. That felt better, more normal than what he was doing before. But at the end of the sessions he would still just tell me it was time, and then he'd stare at me as I stood up and saw myself out. Really really bothered me. (Not a main reason why I terminated, but part of an aggravating pattern of his bizarre behavior over a period of months)...

Sometimes I think he was avoiding me physically, but in a such an obvious way that it was comical. I once left my wallet in his office. When I came back to get it the following session, he brandished it, then dropped it on the desk and walked back to his chair. Like it was on fire, or I was. He just couldn't bring himself to actually hand it to me. So fricking freaky.
Thanks for this!
