Are you afraid of him? Would it be easier if you had a friend with you while you tell him?? Do you think you could ask a close friend to be with you while you tell him??
Don't stay with someone that you know isn't "the" one. That's just wasting you life. Tell him as nicely as you can that you need to try things on your own for awhile.
