Hi Kimchi and WELCOME ~ I'm glad you found us, but I'm sorry you need us.
You will find alot of people who suffer from depression. Many just don't like to talk about it. I've been depressed since I was a child. I've been taking antidepressants for about the last 20 years. Thank goodness they work!!!
The first time I decided to get help, I talked to my medical doctor, and he referred me to a psychiatrist ~ I was QUITE ill at that time and needed to go inpatient. Since then my latest therapist was a psychologist and I got more out of seeing her than anyone. I believe psychologists are more apt to give you feedback, and participate in the conversation instead of just sitting there and nodding while you talk. LOL
When you go to therapy, the initial visit is usually a question & answer session. The therapist tries to get you to open up so he/she can get to know you and get an idea of what the "general" problem is.
Talk to your doctor and see who he/she would recommend. You do NOT have to suffer like this any longer. Depression can be a serious condition, and the sooner you get it taken care of the better. I wish you the very best ~ please keep us updated on your progress. God bless and take care. Hugs, Lee
